Body Language - Basics (8 CPD Hours)

Many studies show that we communicate mainly through body language, especially in emotional states. Since many of our achievements in life depend on how well we interact with others, it is quite critical to know how to communicate beyond words.

Being able to read someone’s body language allows you to compare what they say with what they show in their gestures and body movements and the difference can prove invaluable to you. A lot of body language is carried out unconsciously. As you become more aware of these gestures, you can employ them in your interactions with others and achieve better results in communication. In short, you can have an unconscious effect on others using these gestures and guide the conversation towards the direction of your choice.

This highly visual course on body language contains a large number of illustrations that describe various important body language cues. The gestures are organised into a number of logical sessions covering different aspects of communication. The course contains a series of practical exercises to help participants in mastering body language.

Carol Wilson is a senior practitioner of change and project management with extensive business experience, inclusive of 11 years as a counsellor and psychologist. She has extensive experience in the development and delivery of training material and specializes in the ‘soft’ skills needed for employment or project success. Her experience includes diverse industries across small business to large corporations.
